Here are a few easy useful tips to help you keep from adding those dreaded winter pounds. First, drink
water! Lots of it. Water helps your body in many ways irrelevant of the time of year, but it has huge
weight management benefits so take advantage of them this holiday season.
Second, increase your
fiber and vegetable intake, however, you can. Eat more grains during the early parts of the day and eat more vegetables in the afternoons and evenings. It makes a difference and is always one of the first things our clients are told.
Lastly, reach for produce that is in-season this winter. It will keep
nutrition going into your body, and help prevent germs from attacking your immune system. Plus, it tastes better and will help keep you from reaching for the junk food.
In the southeast, look for citrus and sweet potatoes. In the northeast and midwest, look for butternut squash and apples. In the southwest, look for avocados and apples. In the the west and northwest, look for pears, asian greens, and walnuts.
Simple right!
