Ok, so you already know that a cereal loaded with sugar is not your friend. You’ve discovered the tasty benefits of whole grain cereals. Not really a sacrifice, right? How do you feel about adding
fat free milk? Not appealing?
Here I go. . . first tip –
Almond milk. Unsweetened almond milk has about half the calories of milk with less than 2 grams of carbs per 8oz serving. Not only is it lactose free, for those of us less tolerant, but it is also gluten and cholesterol free. It is also an excellent source of calcium, vitamins D & E, and a good source of vitamin A. It comes in original, vanilla, and chocolate flavors. Try your next serving of cereal with unsweetened vanilla and you won’t go back to milk. (if you like your cereal sweeter, try adding a packet or two of Splenda or Stevia).
